New Delhi: The Board of two- and three-wheeler major TVS Motor, has elevated Sudarshan Venu as the Managing Director of the Company, effective today. The fourth generation industrialist held the joint MD’s role before the elevation. This can also be seen as part of a succession plan of the 44 year old enterprise as he takes on the role from his father Venu Srinivasan, the company’s chairman emeritus.

Sudarshan has been playing a lead role in charting some major strategies of the two-wheeler manufacturer, including new investments in electric mobility. In a press statement, the company says ‘he has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth in India and key international markets, including Asia, Africa, and more recently in Europe’.

Prof Sir Ralf Dieter Speth, Chairman, TVS Motor Company said, “Sudarshan has got a clear vision and brings with him both a tremendous passion for advanced technologies and sustainable growth, deep-seated in values. He thinks future-oriented, staying ahead of the emerging trends. Personal, smart mobility, including electrification, are two of his big areas of focus. He has also spearheaded the international growth of TVS Motor. He has the ability to lead high performing teams internationally with empathy. He takes care of people and society. I am sure that with his leadership, the company will grow stronger and further pivot to the future.”

The NTORQ125 XT comes with a 124.8 cc, 3-valve, air-cooled, race tuned fuel injection (RT-Fi) engine that generates 6.9 kW of power at 7,000 rpm and a peak torque output of 10.5 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The scooter comes in two modes- Street and Sport and a new paint scheme of Neon Green.
