The Mahindra XEV 9S has been officially introduced in the Indian market, marking the brand’s entry into the electric three-row SUV segment. The vehicle is built on a dedicated electric platform and offers a range of performance and technological specifications.

Pricing and Architecture
The XEV 9S has an initial ex-showroom price starting at ₹19.95 lakh. The top-spec variant is priced at ₹29.45 lakh (ex-showroom).
This new SUV utilizes Mahindra’s specialized INGLO skateboard architecture. This foundation enables a flat-floor design, which is key to maximizing internal volume and optimizing battery placement.
Battery and Performance Specifications
The model is offered with a choice of three distinct battery packs: 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh.
The electric motor setup delivers an output of up to 210 kW (approximately 281 hp) and a peak torque of 380 Nm. This allows the SUV to achieve a claimed 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of approximately 7.0 seconds, with a reported top speed of 202 km/h.
Mahindra claims a real-world driving range of close to 500 km on a single charge. The vehicle supports DC fast charging, capable of replenishing the battery from 20 to 80 per cent in under 20 minutes.
Dimensions and Practicality
The INGLO platform contributes to significant interior space. The manufacturer claims over 4,000 litres of usable room across the first two rows.
Practical storage solutions include a 527-litre capacity boot at the rear and a dedicated 150-litre storage area, commonly known as a frunk, at the front. The XEV 9S also offers a ground clearance of 205 mm and features a 10-metre turning circle for maneuverability.
Interior Technology and Comfort
The cabin is defined by a coast-to-coast triple-screen dashboard layout, which is powered by a recent Qualcomm chipset. Key connectivity features include Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration.
The sound system is a 16-speaker setup from Harman Kardon, incorporating Dolby Atmos technology. The vehicle also features Mahindra’s MAIA AI-based interface for vehicle control and assistance.
For passenger comfort, the seats offer functions such as ventilation, sliding, reclining, powered adjustments, and a ‘boss mode’. Additional amenities include multi-zone climate control, acoustic laminated glass, and rear sunshades. Higher trims are equipped with an augmented reality head-up display, AutoPark Assist, and an advanced driver monitoring system.
Safety and Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
Safety provisions include up to seven airbags, which incorporate a driver knee airbag. The XEV 9S features Level 2+ ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
This system utilizes multiple radars and cameras to facilitate features such as intelligent emergency braking, blind view monitoring, and advanced safety aids. The vehicle also implements brake-by-wire technology.
Top-tier variants offer additional advanced hardware for the ADAS and support Mahindra’s Secure360 Pro, which includes live vehicle surveillance capabilities.
Variant and Price Structure
The XEV 9S is offered across three primary trims: Pack One, Pack Two, and Pack Three. The pricing, based on battery capacity (ex-showroom), is structured as follows:
| Variant | Battery Capacity | Price (₹ Lakh) |
| Pack One Above | 59 kWh | 19.95 |
| Pack One Above | 79 kWh | 21.95 |
